Pylint
Static code analyser for Python that checks for errors, enforces a coding standard and suggests refactorings
Visit Pylint →Pylint is a static code analyser for Python: it examines your code without running it, checks for errors, enforces a coding standard, looks for code smells and can suggest refactorings. It is one of the longest-running Python linters and supports plugins, which it calls checkers.
It tends to be stricter and more thorough than lighter linters, partly because it does more type inference. For example, it can check the number of arguments in a function call. That depth comes at the cost of speed and of more configuration to tame its opinions. Many teams now run Ruff for fast everyday checks and keep Pylint for the extra analysis.
See Ruff vs Pylint vs Flake8 for how the three compare.
